Christina Whitehouse-Suggs was born and raised in Miami, FL as the daughter of a Baptist minister & public school teacher. She attended Central Baptist Church, the birthplace of the CBF ministry Touching Miami with Love, where her call for ministry was first affirmed & nurtured. She received her BA from Gardner-Webb University in American Sign Language & Theatre Arts and worked as a self-employed interpreter in Raleigh, NC throughout her time at divinity school. She received her MDiv from Campbell University Divinity School, was ordained at Peachtree Baptist Church in Spring Hope, NC and began her duties as Associate Coordinator of CBFSC December 2007. She has served as a youth minister, missionary in residence, and minister of missions in churches in FL and NC. Christina is married to Matthew Suggs, a staff chaplain at Tidewater Hospice in Columbia, they have a one daughter, Kara and are expecting their second child April 9, 2012. She still interprets on occasion and enjoys theatre, music, Miami football (Go Fins & Canes!), reading, practicing yoga, and lounging on the beach.
